Recently on whatsapp, details have been circulating once again on fake RM100 notes. Fake Malaysian Ringgit notes (usually in larger denominations of RM50 / RM100) often appear from time to time. These notes are of course not legal tender & if brought to a bank would be marked as not legal tender.

It is good for us to be careful of fake notes which appear from time to time (especially large notes) by checking in 3 simple steps:-

  1. Touch (fake notes are often smooth over the entire note)
  2. Security images by holding up to light source (head image & note value)
  3. Security strip (with BNM & note value neatly visible on it)

Stay safe everyone!
