The Selection Methodology
The annual awards recognise the retail funds that have added the most value for investors in 2020 and longer time periods.
The selection method used a quantitative methodology with a qualititative overlay. The awards were also weighing on one-, three-, and five-year risk-adjusted performance of the retail funds.
When selecting winners, fund returns are risk adjusted based on Mornigstar Risk, a measure which brings a higher penalty for downside variation in a fund’s returns than it does for upside volatility.
